Mayote, Christian name Agnes, is the first Masai girl who went against the customs of the tribe and refused to marry the man who beat her, for which she had to serve in prison, and then run from Tanzania to Zanzibar. She defended her rights to freedom, the right to choose her husband, and this became a precedent for other women. Thanks to her, many women in Tanzania found freedom and now it is not considered a crime to refuse marriage.
She began to make a living on her own, took massage courses and began to practice.
Over time, opened a small souvenir shop not far from the Voi Kiwengwa hotel, Kiwengwa beach, Zanzibar.
Today Agnes has been practicing for over 8 years and her clients are tourists from all over the world, Italians, Russians, Americans, Germans, etc.
Besides massage, Agnes does African hairstyles, braiding hair and tattoos.
